Year 3 Classroom Environment
I have noticed that the parents of my year 3 children have not yet had the opportunity to enter their children’s classroom. This is mainly because the class is situated upstairs and the children are dismissed downstairs. Therefore, I would like to share with you a brief description and a few pictures taken by myself of the classroom.
Upon entering our classroom you will find a lively and colorful room completely centered on children and active learning.
I have put up displays that proudly display children’s work.
I have displays that aid children with their literacy and numeracy work.
I have put up a display on ‘Golden Rules’ (class rules).
These are only a few of the things I have displayed in the classroom.
Why have I displayed children’s work?
A classroom filled with the work of children is a delight to be in and sends a message to pupils that their work and their learning are important. Displaying their work shows children the following;
We feel proud of the work
The work is important to us
I value what you do
You are creative, smart and hard-working
Work done well is beautiful
I believe that displaying children’s work not only encourages self esteem but is also one way we can help promote the joy of a job well done.
Why have I created a colorful classroom?
Color makes a classroom come alive. It transforms a plain, dull room into something bright and exciting, capable of holding children’s attention. The classroom is designed to achieve maximum results when trying to encourage children to learn. In general, colors tend to be more stimulating. The use of colors in the classroom has the effect of exciting children and increasing their brain activity. Colors are also great for relaxation. Using color not only adds interest to the room, but can facilitate learning as well.
If you would like to enter the classroom and see it live please do not hesitate to inform me and I would be happy to give you a tour insha’Allah
