In Islam there is a great significance of planting trees. Our Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Never does a Muslim a plants a tree, but that he earns the reward of charity because what is eaten from it; and likewise what is stolen from it, what the wild beasts eat out of it, what the birds eat out of it, and what people take from it is charity for him.” [Sahîh Muslim (1552)]

Year 3 Classroom Environment
I have noticed that the parents of my year 3 children have not yet had the opportunity to enter their children’s classroom. This is mainly because the class is situated upstairs and the children are dismissed downstairs. Therefore, I would like to share with you a brief description and a few pictures taken by myself of the classroom.

PE is a National Curriculum requirement. If there are medical reasons to excuse your child, I kindly ask you to notify me in writing. PE kit consists of blue jogging bottoms and white/blue t-shirt.
Homework / Reading Books
Homework is an essential part of your child’s education as it gives an opportunity to reinforce what has been taught in class. Homework and Reading books will be given on Friday and to be returned to school the following Tuesday. A list of words for spelling will be given every week and spelling tests are held every Friday. Spelling and reading are important part of each week’s homework and any help that you can give to your child with these at home would be beneficial for your child
Pupil Attendance & Punctuality
Pupil attendance and punctuality is continuously checked, therefore it is important that your child is in his/her class before the buzzer is sounded at 8.50am, if your child arrives to school after this time he/she will receive a late mark. If your child is absent from school it is important for us to be aware of this therefore please notify the school office in the morning. Upon your child’s return to school it is essential that the school is provided with a letter explaining their absence. Your child must be collected at 3.40pm.
