Welcome to our school

E-mail

Noor ul Islam is an inclusive and happy school. We are very proud of our children's caring behaviour and attitudes. The respect and kindness they demonstrate daily to each other and everyone around them is wonderful to see. We are also proud of the progress they make with their learning and the enthusiastic way they approach their lessons.

We are a Muslim faith based independent school and have strong and positive links with the local community.We teach our children the National curriculum subjects and supplement this with the extra subjects of Arabic, Islamic Studies and Quran.

We have up to 25 children in each year group from Reception through to Year 6 on roll. We currently have 160 children on roll across the school.

Our parents are supportive and very keen for their children to do well. Our children go on to local secondary schools and perform admirably. We are often reminded by secondary schools how pleased they are to have children from our school.

Our school logo is the leaf of a bamboo tree, just like the bamboo tree that takes five years to develop its roots to grow into a tall leafy tree, we aim to provide the children with a firm grounding in what it means to be a member of a diverse and vibrant British society. The real growth will be evident in years to come insha'Allah.

Ustaadth Ishaaq's Mural on the Reception Class Wall

E-mail
The head teacher approached me with the idea of having some murals painted on our school walls so I suggested that I had some experience many years back in painting and that I could do the work. I identified the Reception class wall as a suitable place for such a painting.

Audio Tajweed practice

E-mail

 Al-Hamdu Lillaah, the final part of our Quraan recitation resources is complete. This document has been developed as an aid to assist in learning Tajweed. After our students have fininshed the Qaa'idah and the bridge to Quraan they move on to learning the rules of Tajweed. The book contains twenty five of the most common rules occuring in the Quraan. You can click on the words and verses to listen to Ustaadth Hussain recite them correctly with Tajweed. Allaah, The Most High has said;

 { وَرَتِّلِ الْقُرْآنَ تَرْتِيلاً }

{…And recite The Quraan in measured recitation.} (73:4)

Interfaith Week

E-mail

Allaah Says in the Holy Quraan:

"O mankind! Lo! We have created you male and female, and have made you nations and tribes that ye may know one another. Lo! the noblest of you, in the sight of Allaah, is the best in conduct. Lo! Allah is Knower, Aware." [Hujuraat:13]

Our children have been appreciating our own faith this week by learning about other world religions. We want our children to have an understanding of other faiths and cultures as one day they shall make the transition into wider society. Islam teaches us tolerance and respect of those who hold different views than us even if we do not agree with these views. Understanding the social, religious and cultural structure of the UK will help them become shining exemplary citizens and hence perfect ambassadors of Islam.
