The school had a Green Day on 2 July 2010 each of the classes carried out activities based upon the environment and recycling.
We asked all staff and students to wear an item of green clothing to mark the day. It was great to see the effort they made with green t-shirts, tops, cardigans, hijabs, socks and even shoes!
The day started at 0900 am when all lights were switched off during assembly. The school then spent the next hour in darkness when all the lights and electrical items were also switched off.
Each class did an activity on something to do with the environment from the oil spill in America, to the contents of our rubbish bins and making robots of waste items. Some of the classes also looked at how they could make their lunch boxes more environmentally friendly by having things in them that can be re-used.
In the afternoon the school fence was decorated with lots of green rings from the scrap paper that we had.
